At Psychology to Succeed I combine NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR to develop an individualised coaching and therapy package to help you be the performer you want to be.

I’m an NLP Sports Practitioner, accredited CBT therapist, and accredited EMDR practitioner. I am also an athlete.
I have worked in the field of mental health since 2002, originally as an Occupational Therapist. I re-trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in 2009 and have worked in the NHS ever since, delivering evidence-based psychotherapy to people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. In 2015 I trained in EMDR, a form of therapy originally developed to help people overcome trauma but now used for a range of anxiety disorders and performance enhancement. I am also trained as an NLP Practitioner and NLP Sports Practitioner, which provide me with plenty of additional coaching tools to target specific sports and performance needs.
NLP is increasingly used in the world of sports, business and performance to help individuals develop an optimum performance mindset. CBT and EMDR are evidence-based talking therapies which are recommended for a range of anxiety disorders and depression, as well as for overcoming traumatic experiences, including those we fear might happen. My approach to sports and performance coaching and therapy integrates NLP, CBT and EMDR in a way to suit whatever difficulty you might be experiencing. Our work might be directly related to your performance goals or a longer standing issue that keeps getting in the way of what you wish to achieve. Whichever it is, I'll work alongside you to help you understand what is happening, from both a psychological and neurological perspective, and then we'll work together to find the best way through whatever you're facing.
My approach is one of compassion and understanding as I am human too. As an ultra runner I have faced many challenges myself and have used NLP, CBT and EMDR to aid my own performance. I practice what I preach!
